The accounting supervisor will be responsible for planning and organizing staff assignments and play an active role in accounting for all pre-production capital costs for the division's drilling and completion operations, facility and gathering and processing operations, and ad hoc capital projects. This role will encompass the following :
- Participation and preparation for budgeting, planning, and forecasting activities
- Lead in the implementation and ongoing accounting and disclosures for right of use assets
- Preparation and posting of monthly and quarterly accounting entries for cost allocations, partner billings, and accruals
- Accumulation of data for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Oversee AFE set ups and closures
- Reconciliations and ad hoc analysis
- Coordinating accounting projects
- Supervise internal / external audits
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Other tasks as assigned.
In addition, this individual will play an active role collaborating with the Division's Drilling and completion operations and facilities operations teams in helping them analyze and understand well and facility capital costs. It will entail developing a well-rounded knowledge of the company's operations, cost accounting and COPAS accounting guidelines with particular emphasis on joint interest billing, overhead calculation, materials, and cost allocation requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred. A Bachelor's degree in related business field with a minimum of 18 hours of accounting may be considered.CPA or CPA eligible8+ years upstream exploration & production accounting work experience preferred.2+ years of supervisory experienceAbility to work independently, in a lead, supervisory role and to communicate / interact across the Division with operational managers and accounting personnel.Aptitude to suggest and implement process improvements to increase effectiveness.Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing and heavily active organization.Self-motivated with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to team development.Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
