SUMMARY

This position directs all work within the Key Initiative of Techquity. This position is responsible for creating and sustaining community impact using partnership development and outcomes funding as key methods.

The Impact Manager understands local communities and develops and maintains effective relationships with community stakeholders and partners to address United Way priorities. The impact manager identifies and researches resource equity related trends to drive United Way funding priorities, inform Community Impact investment strategies and directions, directs and oversees the Techquity Key Initiative, attracts additional financial resources by leveraging United Way investments and demonstrating measurable community impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, but are not limited to :

Direct TECHQUITY Key Initiative

Lead United Way's Techquity Key Initiative strategies and aligned programmatic funding focused on addressing the digital divide by moving human and financial capital to ensure broadband, digital device, and digital skills and literacy training access in United Ways four county service area. The Techquity Key Initiative drives strategic impact for residents in our four-county region via digital resource distribution. Using an equity lens, drive innovative and collaborative solutions for digital equity and inclusion through a systems perspective to break the cycle of inequity that many community members experience. This position reports to the Director of Key Initiatives & Portfolio.

Serve as lead spokesperson for Key Initiative in support of systems level change, advocacy, and fundraising.

Represent United Way at press conferences and media interviews, as necessary.

Present to and engage workplaces, donor affinity groups, and any other institutions or entities as relevant about the critical importance of the key initiative.

Support Volunteer Engagement activities related to Key Initiative

Lead Techquity laptop distribution events and / or effectively train and manage community-based distribution partners.

Manage, in partnership with other departments and external partners, all event logistics and operation.

Develop an inventory control system sufficient to meet the complexity of tracking remaining devices (up to 30,000) through multiple distribution events / outlets

Ensure a positive experience for volunteers and community members receiving services at the event.

Plan for and execute crisis management procedures like mental health de-escalation.

Conduct post distribution event reviews to constantly improve the process / experience for all involved.

Provide oversite of the services provided by our device vendors as well as INPOWER or other contracted partners. Ensure these partners deliver their services as specified in our agreements with them.

Ensure distribution events at the UW and at community partners are on pace to meet the goal of 50,000 devices distributed by the end of 2027.

Lead management of reimbursement-based grant activities by understanding and executing on an approved scope of work, grant budget, grant procedures, and reporting requirements.

Provide direct assistance to nonprofit organization staff and volunteers to implement United Way's expectations and policies for service- delivery and administration.

Support technical needs with preparation of proposals, outcomes reporting, and other documentation required.

Consult on modifications or redirections of program design.

Communicate / implement corrective action when necessary.

Respond to questions, appeals and other concerns.

Establish and engage an Advisory Council of subject matter experts. Utilize a collective impact model to establish outcome goals and drive needle moving change.

In partnership with leadership, volunteers, and community partners, identify needs, assets, partners, resources, and innovative approaches to achieve intended key initiative goals. Integrate the secondary strategy goal of Digital Skills Training into the overall Key Initiative.

Lead management of investment portfolio aligned with Key Initiative to ensure progress toward impact goals.

Evaluate program effectiveness through review of year-end reports including program budgets and client survey outcomes, program site visits, staff interviews, and volunteer experiences.

Develop reports of progress towards stated community goals for use with board, community education and public relations.

Work with Data team to refine outcomes and indicators and identify sources and data collection methods for both quantitative and qualitative measures.

Represent United Way on various committees and community workgroups aligned with Key Initiative.

Assist in identification of policy and system-level changes that will afford long-term, equitable solutions.

Direct and facilitate competitive grant RFP process including management of an RFP review committee.

Assist in implementation of yearly technical assistance training for funded organization reporting.

Conduct site visits and grantee convenings, including an annual initiative summit with best practice training.

Techquity Device Access Project (in collaboration with Digital Bridge & Cascade Asset Mgmt.)

Techquity Digital Navigators

GRANT SUPPORT

Work with grant team to ensure that Community Impact language and data is included in applications. Provide writing and editing support to grant-lead and identify potential opportunities for additional funding for Key Initiatives and related strategies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has minimal supervisory responsibilities (i.e., periodic oversight of interns).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Master of Social Work, public health, or other related graduate degree required. 2 or more years of program and project management experience including planning, administration, and implementation. Experience working with the public, specifically community members seeking support services. Health and human services experience preferred. Demonstrated training with and successful use of various project management methodologies. Background in using outcomes in program development, operation, or evaluation. Evidence of ability to develop collaborative efforts. Demonstrated success in problem anticipation and resolution. Ability to work well independently and within a team including staff, volunteers, and community members using interpersonal skills, coaching techniques, and crisis response techniques. Ability to present ideas and proposals in a clear, concise, motivational manner, both in writing and verbally. Ability to recommend and implement policy / procedural changes and recordkeeping skills. Understanding of community needs and strategies to promote community impact.

Experience in working with computerized software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel or other similar programs. Experience or knowledge of computer-based outcome reporting systems. Demonstrated capacity to handle financial development opportunities related to investment portfolio.

Position requires significant interaction with agency partners and access to highly confidential information.

Regular, predictable attendance is required; including additional overtime as business demands dictate.

Valid Driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, a clean driving record, and comfortability driving

company vans.
