Responsibilities

• Leads with a Safety-First mindset and works to facilitate a Safety-First culture.
• Serves as a champion and ensures adherence to HPS (Hormel Production System) in the facility.
• Supervises and trains production Team Leaders to assure the production of products / services meets daily production schedules.
• Develops short-term and long-range production plan schedules to meet the needs of sales and assures the ordering of raw materials and / or supplies required for scheduling production in the assigned area.
• Assures the production of products / services meets quality objectives.
• Achieves labor efficiency and utilization objectives, standard yield objectives, safety objectives, production cost objectives, and sanitation / housekeeping objectives.
• Assures HACCP and other food safety initiatives are implemented to Hormel and USDA expectations.
• Provides vacation relief for Team Leaders and Operations Managers Supervisors and Operations Managers.
• Performs project work as assigned by their Senior Operations Manager.
• Leads VRO initiatives and ensures the reporting team is identifying / acting on them as well.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Manager of Plant Engineering role is between $84,800 - $118,800 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
