Overview
These are 12 month limited-term positions with the possibility of extending to 24 months, becoming permanent, or other arrangements. These positions are statewide but must be able to report to one of the regional offices located in Sacramento, Oakland, or Glendale.
Under the direction of the Attorney Supervisor, the incumbent provides a full range of legal services, including investigation of unfair practice charges, representation in cases, investigation and litigation of requests for injunctive relief, and representation of the Board in general litigation.
Incumbents are attorneys at various levels who have demonstrated an interest in labor law, administrative law, and civil and appellate litigation. They have the ability to independently and effectively perform legal work in varying levels of complexity and produce high-quality work. They work with discretion, handle cases in trial and appellate courts, and advise the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, and advise Board Members on public sector labor relations issues as appropriate.
