Duties and Responsibilities for the Commercial Estimator position :

Responsibilities :

• Thoroughly reviews specifications and drawings to determine scope of work required.
• Develops and provides complete, accurate and timely proposals to meet bid dates.
• Consistently covers all project costs including unique project requirements. (BIM, other. Etc.)
• Prior to the bid, coordinates with multiple vendors and subs for quotes and on spec compliance.
• Performs layout and sizing of ductwork as required when the documents are not complete.
• Develops conceptual budget estimates from system narratives and / or system sketches.
• Maintains all files of working bid document notes and assumptions of project estimates.
• Follows up with owners and GC on bids and proposals sent out until project is awarded.
• Provides PM's and Management team input regarding bid results and pending project awards.
• Thoroughly reviews all subcontracts awarded to Bruce for compliance with our bid scope.
• Provides PM's with timely and complete project set up files for tracking and management.
• When bidding on out of state work, looks into taxes, licensing, and other special requirements.
• When NTP is received, initiates project buyout thoroughly and efficiently, ordering submittals.
• After a contract is received, requests a project number, permits, etc. from appropriate people.
• After a contract is received, completes buyout efficiently working to improve on bid day pricing.
• Efficiently manages and responds to any questions or issues arise with submittals.
• Provides detailed updates to PM's on status of buyout and submittals for all projects in process.

Duties :

As required, attends pre-bid conferences, job walks, or other meetings prior tot he job bidding.

Establishes and maintains good working rapport with owners, developers, GC, etc.

Establishes and maintains good working rapport with vendors and subcontractors.

Establishes and maintains good working rapport with PM's, project admin, and Foremen.

When possible, mentors and assists in the development of team members. (Foreman and PM'S)

Looks for ways to improve processes and establish standard work procedures.

Schedule :

Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM (weekends off)

One hour lunch daily.
