Raleigh Water, a leading utility within the City of Raleigh, is responsible for providing exceptional water and wastewater services to the City of Raleigh service area, including the Towns of Garner, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Wendell, and Zebulon. As part of our Capital Improvement Division, this Engineering Manager position oversees the City's water and sewer asset management program. This position reports directly to Raleigh Water's Assistant Director of the Capital Improvement Program. Raleigh Water's Asset management program is a critical component of the Capital Improvement Program and is responsible for how we manage our many existing assets to maintain reliable water and wastewater services.
Asset management is a multi-step decision-making process that leverages GIS-based asset inventory data, along with analytical models and tools, to guide infrastructure investment decisions. This position ensures the integration of technical analyses, hydraulic modeling, and asset management strategies to support infrastructure reliability, capacity planning, and maintenance prioritization. The Engineering Manager of the Raleigh Water Asset Management Program position leads a team of engineers and technical staff, including coordination with the Raleigh Water GIS team, in applying advanced analytical tools and methodologies to optimize the performance and longevity of the City's water and sewer systems.
About You :
The ideal candidate for this position is a team player with experience in project management, leadership and supervision, and a solid understanding of engineering principles, especially related to water and sewer systems, including hydraulic modeling and analysis, and asset management principles and practices. You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate also has knowledge of applicable engineering software, such as ESRI ArcGIS, Cityworks, hydraulic modeling software, or other relevant software applications.
