Role Overview :

The Business Development Leader will be responsible for driving growth through global target account development strategies, executing key outreach initiatives, and leading a team to expand Benchmark Gensuites market footprint. This individual will leverage expertise in EHS / Sustainability subject matter domains, technology, CRM systems, event engagement, and applied AI to deliver measurable outcomes across target accounts while building and mentoring a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute global target account development strategies focused on high-value accounts.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to align business development initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Define and implement processes for global pipeline generation, event follow-up, and account engagement.
  • Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of business development professionals.
  • Create a culture of continuous learning and skill development, with a track record of elevating junior team members.
  • Establish and track individual and team performance metrics.
  • Business Development Execution

  • Lead engagement strategies for global target accounts, including outreach, relationship development, and partnership opportunities.
  • Oversee event participation strategies, ensuring strong pre-event targeting, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-through.
  • Utilize systems such as HubSpot and Gong to track and optimize outreach effectiveness, pipeline growth, and account performance; Deploy AI and GenAI capabilities to optimize and automate key activities.
  • Performance & Metrics

  • Monitor and analyze key business development KPIs, including pipeline generation, conversion rates, activity, and funnel metrics.
  • Provide leadership reporting on business development performance, insights, and growth opportunities.
  • Identify process and technology enhancements, including applied AI and GenAI to improve operational efficiency and generate insights to guide decision-making and program optimization.
  • Collaboration & Travel

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment on priorities and messaging.
  • Travel up to 30% to engage with clients, prospects, and industry events globally.
  • Skills and Qualifications :

    Experience & Knowledge

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales leadership.
  • Direct experience in EHS or EHS technology solutions strongly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in target account development and global account strategy, with theability to articulate impact and correlate effort to revenue.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot and Gong.
  • Leadership & Coaching

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team, with a successful track record of developing junior team members into strong contributors.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to foster accountability and growth.
  • Strategic & Analytical Skills

  • Strong understanding of key business development metrics and KPIs.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% globally.
  • Strong knowledge of event engagement strategies and post-event follow-through best practices.
