Senior Staff Accountant - San Diego, CA

Salary : $75 - $90k

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to become an integral part of a fast-paced finance team. In this role, you will manage accurate financial records and ensure all accounting tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. Collaborating with the Accounting group, you’ll contribute to maintaining financial integrity, improving operational processes, and identifying opportunities for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Review and monitor General Ledger accounts daily, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.

Reconcile disbursement and expense accounts consistently, resolving issues as they arise.

Oversee inter-company transactions, ensuring balances and transfers are recorded correctly.

Enter cash transactions promptly and accurately, maintaining up-to-date records.

Prepare monthly allocations for both national and regional operational costs.

Manage accounting records using both accrual and cash accounting methods.

Compile financial summaries, reports, and review packages for management review.

Generate and submit quarterly financial reports to regional leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; 2+ years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables and lookups) is essential; experience with Yardi or other property management software is a plus.

Experience in property management or real estate accounting is desirable.

Strong verbal and written skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines.

Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Willingness to work 40–50 hours per week, with flexibility during peak accounting periods such as month-end and year-end close.
