The Lead Recruitment Specialist is the driving force behind creating an exceptional candidate journey at New Horizons. As the first point of contact, this role sets the tone by showcasing our values, vision, and mission—ensuring every interaction inspires candidates to join our team.
More than a recruiter, the Lead Specialist is a trusted partner to Hiring Managers, providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a strong talent pipeline to meet both immediate and future staffing needs. This role actively shapes the recruitment strategy by recommending and implementing innovative approaches to attract and retain top talent, enhance the new hire experience, and strengthen long-term employee engagement.
With a focus on continuous improvement, the Lead Specialist evaluates recruitment processes, tracks key performance metrics, and analyzes hiring trends to drive smarter decisions and lasting impact.
Pay Rate : $28-$30 / Hour
Requirements
Recruiting Functions
- Manage the full recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Keep candidate records current and accurate in ATS through final outcome.
- Build applicant pools through job fairs, colleges, networking, and social media.
- Maintain electronic records of resumes, interviews, assessments, and background checks.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and create recruitment strategies.
- Ensure all positions are properly authorized, have updated job descriptions, and are posted internally / externally.
- Screen candidates (external and internal) for qualifications and availability.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews; greet and guide applicants through the process.
- Review finalist candidates with Sr. Director of HR before offers are made.
- Process reference and background checks; document findings for review.
- Follow up with candidates through each step of the hiring process.
- Post and update openings across platforms, internal reports, and company website.
- Monitor New Horizons employment website and alert Communications of needed updates.
- Actively participate in hiring events, networking, sourcing, and in-person interviews.
- Coordinate internal applicant interviews and communicate status updates.
Onboarding & Orientation
Lead New Hire Orientation for all employees.Support applicants with online onboarding as needed.Coordinate onboarding plans with department supervisors.Ensure all new hire paperwork, checklists, and training are completed and filed.Arrange access, equipment, and tools per authorization.Confirm completion of Employee Information forms.Oversee accurate and timely entry of new hire data into HRIS and timekeeping systems.Ensure new hires are trained and active in timekeeping / scheduling apps.Collect feedback on onboarding / recruitment and recommend improvements.Serve as backup for employee / member badge processing.Data, Reporting & Compliance
Evaluate and improve recruitment processes to boost efficiency and candidate experience.Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulations.Maintain accurate recruitment reports and records.Track and report recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality of hire).Analyze data for trends and recommend improvements.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direction to Recruitment Specialist and HR team as assignedSupport interviewing, training, and onboarding of employeesPlan, assign, and direct work in alignment with policies and lawsQUALIFICATIONS
