Job Description

The Unit Clerk creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients . The Unit Clerk provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include administrative and clerical duties on nursing units.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education : Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; or high school diploma.

Experience : One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.

Knowledge : Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
