This position will work Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm for an estimated duration of two months. Following this period, the role will transition to a 12-hour 3-4-4-3 shift schedule, including weekends, working 5 : 30pm - 5 : 30am . Under this schedule, employees work 3 days the first week and 4 days the next, repeating on a rotating basis. All hours worked between 5 : 30pm to 5 : 30am will receive a 10% shift differential.

As a Production Supervisor, your role will be pivotal in steering the daily operations towards achieving production targets and upholding quality standards. You will lead and manage a team, focusing not just on effective personnel management but also on fostering a culture of safety and compliance. This involves conducting regular safety inspections and ensuring that all activities adhere to safety regulations, directly impacting the reduction of workplace accidents and promoting a safe working environment. You lead by example and take a hands-on approach when training team members or when the demand dictates additional resources.
Your Key Areas of Impact
Overseeing Operations as Production Supervisor : Your role is critical in ensuring that production goals are consistently met and maintained at high-quality standards. You effectively coordinate activities within your shift, adeptly handling operational issues to optimize production efficiency and ensure smooth workflow management.
Team Leadership and Safety Management : Your leadership as a Production Supervisor significantly impacts workforce morale and productivity. Implementing and enforcing safety protocols, along with conducting regular safety briefings and inspections, are key responsibilities that contribute to reducing workplace accidents and fostering a safer working environment.
Equipment Oversight and Quality Assurance : As a professional proficient in metal component production, processing, and secondary operations such as quality inspection, you play a critical role in equipment oversight and quality assurance. Monitoring the condition and performance of equipment during your shift is a crucial aspect of your responsibilities. This vigilant oversight not only minimizes downtime due to equipment issues but also ensures a continuous production flow and maintains high-quality standards for the products. By doing so, you contribute significantly to customer satisfaction and uphold the company's reputation for excellence in manufacturing and quality assurance.
Inventory Management and Process Efficiency : Managing inventory effectively is a vital part of your duties. This includes reducing waste and optimizing resource utilization. Identifying and implementing process improvements during your shift directly influences operational efficiency and productivity, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the manufacturing facility.
Communication and Reporting : As a Production Supervisor, your role in facilitating clear and effective communication between your shift team and higher management is essential. Accurate and timely reporting on shift performance is crucial for informed operational planning and strategic decision-making. You are instrumental in the execution of the daily M4DI meetings providing detailed performance data. You are a champion of the Manufacturing Execution System and contribute to the development of the system.
Problem-Solving and Compliance : Your proactive problem-solving skills ensure the prompt resolution of any issues, maintaining a consistent production flow. Upholding compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies is a key responsibility, maintaining the facility’s legal and ethical standards and safeguarding the company’s reputation against potential legal liabilities. You actively participate in the H&T Excellence program and provide resources to ensure strong participation from members of your team.
Requirements :
You’ve received your bachelor’s degree from an accredited university engineering, operations management, product design and manufacturing, or related field, and you’ve spent at least five (5) years in supervisory position with a focus on high volume mass manufacturing. You will work with a high-level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management. You are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Your work is conducted in a dynamic manufacturing setting, requiring flexibility to work in both office and production floor environments, where exposure to noise and fumes is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. You must be able to remain in a stationary position 10% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and be able to move about inside the facility. Your work requires manual dexterity, as you will regularly use hands to operate machinery, tools, or controls, and handle or manipulate objects. You must have clear visual acuity for both close-up work and monitoring processes from a distance, as well as for identifying and distinguishing colors. The ability to hear and discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency. You operate a computer 20% of the time. You need to be able to lift to 35 lbs.
