Title : Card Overhualer

Reports to : 1st Shift Supervisor

Division : Preparation

Employees who wish to be considered for this position should :

  • Typically, have been in their current position for a minimum of twelve months
  • Meet the minimum qualifications for the position
  • Notify their manager of his / her interest
  • Submit their interest in writing with a current copy of their CV. They should also submit a letter stating the reasons for their interest and how their background / experience aligns with the position advertised.

Role Purpose :

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on Opening, Blending, Carding and Filtration Equipment.
  • Completes PM checklist after work has been completed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean workstation.
  • Make proper adjustments to ensure a quality product.
  • Replace missing, worn and broken parts as required.
  • Take all repairs to supply room.
  • Responsible for adherence to Machinery Maintenance plan as directed by plant policy and procedures.
  • Must be available for off shift equipment breakdowns.
  • Support fixer for setting up equipment for lot changes and samples.
  • Must be experienced on Opening, Blending, Carding and Filtration Equipment.
  • Must be able to understand parts manual and order parts.
  • Must be able to read, understand and make critical settings to equipment when required.
  • Must be able to follow instructions given by Management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

    • Principal Accountabilities & Key activities

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Standing - 7 to 7 1 / 2 hours concrete floor while performing duties.
  • Climbing – When required.
  • Moving - moves about in an area covering two locations while performing duties.
  • Moving Materials – Carries machine parts from supply room to job location. Moves tools from one location to another.
  • Hearing / Speaking - must be able to communicate with operators, fixers and Shift Supervisor.
  • Reaching – Must reach 8 feet when working on prep equipment.
  • Visual Acuity -
  • Must be able to read printed material, machinery ID and displays.
  • Must be able to see Quality and Mechanical problems.
  • Must not be color blind.
  • Bending / Stooping – Occasional bending to work on cards
  • Lifting – Assists in lifting machine parts of 75 - 125 lbs.

    • Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Prerequisites Mandatory : Must be able to read job instructions.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to work on carding equipment.
  • Must be able to understand written and oral instruction from supervision.
  • Preferred : Be able to pass screening and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated or tested mechanical aptitude.
  • Must furnish own tools necessary to do work.
  • FilSPEC USA forklift certification
  • Preferred : H.S. or G.E.D.
