Temporary Paralegal II

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Intermediate knowledge and application of State and Local Rules (including Superior Court rules). Stays abreast of current rules changes and informs team of same.
• Analyzes and organizes the information, prepares written reports that lawyers use in determining how cases, business transactions, or regulatory matters should be handled. Assists with preparation of legal documents in draft and final form; meetings with clients, closings, and regulatory hearings.
• Creates and manages virtual workrooms and coordinates with client representatives regarding documentation to be maintained therein. Conducts and responds to general inquiries to obtain or convey information relative to the firm's legal practice. Communicates with clients as appropriate.
• Drafts correspondence, memoranda to file, and basic documents related to substance of a case or transaction for internal and external use.
• Coordinates and conducts routine document reviews, to include document organization, and preparation for administrative, and / or business closings, as applicable and as directed by a lawyer or more experienced paralegal.
• Coordinates the organization, maintenance and retrieval of document files including, but not limited to, correspondence, court papers, corporate documents, legislative materials, case records, transactional documents, governmental filing documents, administrative forms and other materials relative to the firm's practice areas.
• Utilizes and demonstrates proficiency in firm-supported technology tools.
• Utilizes mid-level understanding of regulatory, administrative, and / or court service requirements to complete routine legal filings and / or communications with representatives of the court, tribunal, agency, etc.
