Job Title : Advanced PLC Controls Technician
Department : Facility Maintenance Team
Employment Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Job Summary : A successful candidate will be able to independently design, develop, install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) within our computer systems that control the functions of machines based on inputs and outputs within an industrial setting. They possess strong technical skills in electrical (high and low voltage), electronic, automation systems, along with advanced problem-solving and communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial controls and automation equipment and associated components like sensors, actuators, and HMIs
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, electronic, and automation system faults, including PLC hardware, software and communications networks.
- Conducting routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on PLCs and related equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Modifying and optimizing PLC programs and controls strategies to improve process efficiency, productivity, and safety.
- Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of PLC programs, systems configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance activities.
- Ability to take ownership of projects; responsive and flexible to all project requests and reacts to any adjustments promptly and efficiently, effectively prioritizing needs and tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with a strong analytical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to connect PLC with software and navigate software independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain all manners of electrical components (high and low voltage).
- Ability to use computer systems to perform diagnostics on electrical components and PLC system.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
