Position Summary
The Controls Engineer will work across a cross-functional support team consisting of technical services, customer service, and field service to provide troubleshooting help, answer programming and commissioning questions, and assist with documentation for lighting assemblies. The successful candidate will be an accountable, resourceful problem solver capable of working around technical obstacles.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems.
- Focus on vetting, validation, and implementation of third-party control systems for various products and applications.
- Troubleshoot electrical structures, including wired and wireless control systems, to identify root causes.
- Design control systems, including sensor layouts, for commercial facilities.
- Provide customer support with product information, troubleshooting, and programming or commissioning controls.
- Program devices, applications, and interfaces to support lighting control development.
- Conduct testing and analysis of new control products.
- Assist in photometric design layouts and maintain technical product data.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of work.
- Prepare materials, reports, and documentation related to design, programming, and installation.
Position Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related field.Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit software.Self-disciplined with the ability to work independently.Proven experience working across cross-functional teams.Systems-level thinker with a holistic project view.Self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Health & Safety Factors
