Position Summary : The HVAC / Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and oversight of HVAC and refrigeration systems across all Dick’s Drive-In locations, including restaurants, warehouses, and office buildings. This role plays a vital part in minimizing equipment downtime, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and training other facilities staff.
Essential Duties :
Perform quarterly preventative maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration equipment at all sites.
Provide a bi-annual assessment of equipment to identify major repairs or replacements.
Maintain an inventory of common replacement parts and supplies to support timely repairs.
Support HVAC and refrigeration vendors during new installations and major equipment replacements.
Respond to off-hours emergency calls, including nights and weekends.
Collaborate with the facilities team on special projects, including those not directly related to HVAC / Refrigeration.
Train and supervise Facilities team members in HVAC and refrigeration skills and safety practices.

Responsibilities :
Maintain all records required by the company and regulatory agencies regarding HVAC / Refrigeration installation, maintenance, and repair.
Work with Facilities and Operations staff to minimize operational disruptions and equipment downtime.
Will be asked to participate in special projects and training as assigned.
Keep all HVAC / Refrigeration tools and equipment in good working order and well organized.
Perform rooftop equipment work and ladder climbing as needed.
Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Minimum
Qualifications :
EPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification.
Seattle Class C : Journey Refrigeration Mechanic License.
06A -HVAC / Refrigeration Washington State Specialty Electrical License.
Valid Drivers License.
Current CPR / First Aid certification (Training can be provided).
OSHA 10 Certification (training can be provided).
Minimum 8 years of HVAC / Refrigeration experience, with at least 4 years at the Journeyman level.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Work Environment : The work is typically performed in restaurants, warehouses, and outdoor environments with a moderate noise level.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or squat for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms to perform the functions of the role. The employee must regularly communicate with individuals and groups, both on the telephone and in person. The employee must regularly be able to lift, carry, and / or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and enter crawl spaces. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision when inspecting equipment. The employee must be able to wear personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e., but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
This position requires extensive local travel.
