- On-Call Hours
- Monday – Saturday : 4 : 00 PM to 8 : 00 AM (next day)
- Sunday : 8 : 00 AM to 8 : 00 AM (Monday)
- Holidays (24 hours) : New Year’s Eve / Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve / Day On-Call Minimum Commitment
- 42 on-call shifts (Monday–Thursday) per year
- 10 weekend (Friday–Monday) on-call periods per year
- 2 full (24-hour) holiday shifts per year What We're Looking For : Qualifications Education Associate Degree in Nursing – Required Graduate of an accredited nursing program Experience Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse – Required 1 year of acute dialysis experience – Required Licensure & Certification Current RN license – State of South Carolina – Required Current BLS certification – Required Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 Skills & Requirements Proficient in all duties of an Acute Dialysis RN Functional proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and hospital EMR systems (within 90 days of hire) Fluent in written and verbal communication required to perform job duties Nephrology certification - preferred What You'll Do : Position Summary The Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute provides professional hemodialysis nursing care to hospitalized patients under the hospital’s license. The Dialysis RN works independently and must demonstrate the ability to perform all dialysis procedures, including being available for on-call dialysis coverage. This role requires clinical proficiency, collaboration with hospital staff, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The RN will be responsible for initiating, monitoring, and discontinuing dialysis treatments, and will document all relevant care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate, professional dialysis care using prescribed renal replacement therapies Perform pre- and post-treatment assessments, initiate treatment, administer medications, and ensure proper documentation Document assessments, vitals, treatments, and clinical observations in the patient’s medical record; notify providers of any critical changes Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor for less experienced staff; oversee daily function of multi-treatment dialysis suites Communicate emergent issues or complications to the supervisor, hospital staff, and providers Complete administrative duties including : Equipment safety checks Dialysis suite setup and breakdown Charge form submission Hospital orientations, competencies, and in-services
