As a Facilities Engineering Manager, you'll serve as the strategic leader and operational backbone for facilities operations across multiple manufacturing, warehousing, and office environments in Sunnyvale, TX. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with team leadership as you optimize facility performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage both day-to-day operations and capital projects. You'll act as the single point of contact for all facility engineering services, delivering cost-effective solutions that maximize uptime, reliability, and safety across complex building systems. What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like :
Oversee daily operations of critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire / life safety) across manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities to ensure continuous uptime and performance
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of contractors and building support staff, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement while managing performance and development
Execute and enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs, conducting facility assessments and implementing improvement recommendations for mechanical systems, building envelope, and energy efficiency
Manage third-party vendors and service providers, overseeing contract compliance, negotiating service agreements, and serving as project manager for facility upgrades and equipment installations
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while maintaining SOPs, inspection logs, and conducting site audits during regulatory inspections
Develop and manage operating budgets, monitor expenditure variances, forecast maintenance spending, and contribute to long-range facilities planning and sustainability initiatives
Provide emergency response support through on-call participation while maintaining accurate updates to all systems and metrics supporting Integrated Facilities Management
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience in facilities engineering
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in technical facilities or engineering roles, with at least 3-5 years demonstrated team management and leadership experience
Proven track record managing complex facilities operations encompassing manufacturing, warehousing, and office environments with diverse building systems
Technical expertise in MEP systems, building automation systems (BAS / BMS), energy management tools, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Strong financial acumen including budget forecasting, cost tracking, capital planning, and demonstrated ability to identify operational efficiencies and cost savings opportunities
Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, review contracts and lease documents, and assess technical specifications
Physical capability to perform demanding work including standing, walking, lifting, climbing, and safely accessing elevated structures while wearing required PPE
Preferred Qualifications :
Professional certifications such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager), CPM (Certified Property Manager), RPA (Real Property Administrator), or CSM (Certified Systems Manager)
Experience with sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency programs, and green building practices in industrial and commercial environments
Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks beyond basic OSHA / NFPA requirements, including environmental and industry-specific standards
Demonstrated experience with space planning, real estate assessments, and facility expansion projects in manufacturing or industrial settings
Strong background in vendor management, contract negotiation, and service level agreement development with multiple service providers
Experience with advanced building technologies, IoT systems, and data analytics for facility performance optimization
Project management certification or demonstrated experience managing large-scale facility improvement and retrofit projects
