Associate Attorney

Overview

Mahoney, Silverman & Cross, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney (0–4 years of experience) to join our Local Government Law Practice Group. The successful candidate must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and will represent municipal clients, including handling misdemeanor and petty traffic and ordinance violation prosecution in the Will County Courthouse. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly licensed attorney who is enthusiastic about courtroom work, municipal law, and community engagement, with the support and mentorship of a collaborative, team-based environment.

Location : Joliet, IL. Employment Type : Full Time. Salary : $80,000 - $90,000 Annual. Bonus / Commission : Yes. Years of Experience : Less than 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Represent municipalities in prosecuting misdemeanor traffic and ordinance violations
• Appear regularly in local courts for trials, hearings, and motion practice
• Draft pleadings, perform legal research, and prepare legal memoranda
• Provide legal counsel to local government clients on a range of municipal matters
• Attend client meetings and public hearings (occasionally outside of standard business hours)
• Actively contribute to the legal community and the communities we serve
