SUMMARY : The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Association’s financial operations, including month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role manages accounts payable and receivable functions, prepares journal entries, assists with audits, and provides support for financial statement review and analysis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assists Controller with performing month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the general ledger.
- Manages accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Prepares bank reconciliations and monitors cash balances.
- Assists with preparation and review of monthly financial statements.
- Supports annual audit processes, including compiling schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Maintains accounting records in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Monitors expense accounts, prepares accruals, and assists with budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Responds to vendor inquiries and resolves billing or payment discrepancies.
- Assists with preparation of financial reports for leadership and Board of Directors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Controller.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or association environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.Experience with accounting software systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.Must be able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship.OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED :
