Code Compliance Officer
Join Our Team as a Code Compliance Officer Make a Difference in St. Cloud! The City of St. Cloud is seeking a dedicated Code Compliance Officer to help maintain and improve the quality of life for our residents and businesses. This position works both in the office and out in the field, investigating and evaluating residential and commercial properties for code, zoning, and life safety violations.

Hours : Monday Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by one (1) year of code enforcement experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Bilingual preferred (Spanish / English). Certification by the Florida Association of Code Enforcement preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Language Ability : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Reasoning : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
