We’re looking for an experienced Community Manager to help support and scale Apple’s presence in the Swift community. Description Swift is one of the most powerful ways to build for Apple platforms — and behind it is a passionate, global community of developers, educators, and contributors from across the ecosystem.You’ll help design and run developer-facing programs, build relationships with key contributors, and collaborate across Apple to bring community initiatives to life. This is a unique opportunity to build something new at Apple — helping connect deeply with Swift developers across Apple platforms and partnering closely with teams engaged in the open source Swift ecosystem that powers the language’s evolution.
Responsibilities Operate and expand community engagement efforts focused on Apple’s developer ecosystem— including contributor support, content campaigns, and recognition programs
Represent Apple in developer-facing spaces — GitHub, forums, conferences, and digital communities
Collaborate with teams across Apple to implement developer-facing initiatives aligned with our community strategy
Help track developer sentiment and engagement across channels, and synthesize insights that inform future efforts and build trust
Contribute to public-facing content and storytelling — from contributor spotlights to community announcements
Experiment with new ways of showing up : pilots, prototypes, spotlights, mentoring programs, and more
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience in developer community engagement, technical program management, or Developer Relations
Familiar with the Swift language and its ecosystem, or similar programming languages and technical communities
Preferred Qualifications Strong communicator and relationship-builder who can elevate community voices and support contributors across backgrounds
Can lead programs from concept to execution — organizing timelines, aligning partners, and launching with quality
Have a thoughtful, authentic presence in technical spaces and enjoy representing your company with humility and clarity
Energized by building new programs, learning from developers, and helping shape how community shows up at scale
Experience engaging with developer or technical communities at scale — especially around programming languages, governance models, or contribution frameworks
Familiarity with the Swift Evolution process and how community feedback informs language direction
Can turn developer insights into meaningful programs, content, and relationships
Strong writing skills — technical blog posts, contributor spotlights, community updates
Understanding of how developers learn — especially students and early-career audiences
Prior experience at a platform or developer tools company
Familiarity with GitHub workflows, documentation systems, and community project dynamics
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,800 and $221,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
