Summary :
We are representing a reputable general engineering contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team. With over 35 years of experience delivering complex commercial, heavy civil, and underground utility projects, this company has built a strong reputation for excellence and long-term client relationships. The Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while upholding the company’s standards of quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead, mentor, and supervise project and field engineers while promoting team accountability
Establish performance goals and provide feedback through ongoing coaching and written evaluations
Oversee the development and submission of RFIs, submittals, billings, and compliance documentation
Manage agency, client, and regulatory requirements including permits, inspections, and engineering approvals
Review bid documentation, contracts, design plans, schedules, and proposals to identify risks and opportunities
Prepare and maintain project budgets and cost tracking systems; review costs monthly and forecast updates
Coordinate project turnover meetings, safety planning, and interdepartmental communication
Negotiate and procure materials, subcontractors, and services in collaboration with the purchasing department
Support field operations with logistics planning, manpower allocation, and safe work practices
Monitor production, labor hours, and expenses to identify trends and implement corrective actions
Participate in cost-to-complete reviews, quarterly forecasts, and change order negotiations
Lead project closeout efforts including punch lists, documentation, and retention release
Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to review project performance and identify areas of improvement
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience managing heavy civil, commercial, or underground utility projects
Proficient in SAGE 300, Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10, Bluebeam, and B2W software
Strong negotiation, organizational, and planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to lead diverse teams
Knowledge of public works contracting, AIA contracts, and prevailing wage / labor compliance
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
