Position Summary : Manufactures detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions using various computer- or mechanically controlled machine tools and equipment. Sets up and operates mills, computer-controlled equipment (CNC) machine tools, and other machining equipment using mathematical and geometrical calculations. Uses precision measuring instruments to check and maintain tolerances. Calculates dimensions using measuring instruments. Installs, aligns, secures, and adjusts cutting tools and work pieces. Monitors the feed and speed of machines. Measures and examines completed products for defects. May also perform complex and varied machining operations in prototype experimental activities. Sets up low-complexity, unproven parts. May also set up proven parts with medium to high complexity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers according to complex blueprints and specifications.
• Retrieve job related information (job routings, part drawing, tool lists, work- instructions, etc.)
• Select and utilize appropriate cutting tools and work holding for various materials and machining processes.
• Document manufactured quantities and all required processes utilizing ERP system
• Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet stringent quality control standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machining efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• May assist with developing new machining methods and tooling for complex parts.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications :

o 5-6 years of relevant experience

o High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training

o Must have experience with 5-6 axis machines

o Experience with multi-spindle machines a plus

o Excellent attention to detail

o Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements

o Basic computer skills

o Problem solving abilities

o Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.

o Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)

o Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player

o Understand and obey safety requirements

o Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris

o Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50lbs

o Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

o Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time

o Capable of standing for long periods
