CMM Quality Technician

Overview

CMM Quality Technician. Grundfos is seeking a CMM Quality Technician to join the Quality team. The CMM Quality Technician will ensure the dimensional accuracy and quality of parts machined and molded. They will perform dimensional measurements using FARO Arm (CMM) and / or standard metrology equipment, maintain quality records, participate in corrective / preventive action, inventory purge and screen, assist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and assist with the resolution of factory issues. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity.

Your main responsibilities

• Accurately measure parts using CMMs to verify dimensions and tolerances against blueprints.
• Create and modify programs to measure specific parts and components using software.
• Interpret measurements, identify discrepancies and document inspection results.
• Troubleshoot and resolve CMM programming issues and measurement discrepancies.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to ensure the product meets the specifications, including first articles, first-piece inspection, in-process and final inspection.
• Document, review, and maintain documentation related to manufacturing, quality control, and quality assurance.
• Maintain production team accountability and accuracy for inspection reports and specification compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and personal accountability within the production departments, focusing on eliminating NCRs and scrap.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment.
• Perform inspection on raw and machined parts, fabricated and purchased parts, and pump assemblies.
• Maintain standard inspection records including component history cards and receiving activity logs.
• Generate non-conforming material reports and control non-conforming material from suppliers and factory fallout.
• Assist in the development and documentation of inspection work instructions and processes.
• Perform duties in accordance with Grundfos quality standards.
• Perform the job in a way that meets all applicable laws, regulations and EHS requirements.
