Lead, Warehouse Operations

This position leads associates in various warehouse operations areas including Packing, Picking, Replenishment, & Shipping for Dickies' Fort Worth Distribution Center during their shift. This person will be required to be visible and vocal within their departments; floor time in their department with all associates is critical. This person will fill in for any associate in the operation during their absence and will be responsible for delegating responsibilities out to the appropriate associates. Strong communication between this position and with other shifts, Supervisors, and Managers will be required.

How You Will Make a Difference

This position leads associates in various warehouse operations areas including Packing, Picking, Replenishment, & Shipping for Dickies' Fort Worth Distribution Center during their shift. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead floor associates in the processing and performance of the day-to-day work activates. Also, the lead will maintain a safe work environment within the Fort Worth Distribution Center. In reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this position will support the associates in their day-to-day duties directed toward timely completion and service of customer orders. The job duties include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Get a clear understanding of the day-to-day objectives from the shift Supervisor and / or Manager, and help associates accomplish them
• Ensure associates are trained in their respective operational processes
• Support Coaching and Training of all associates in their operation area
• Help provide clear and effective communications to all Associates, Leads, Supervisors, and Managers
• Check upstream / downstream workflow and keep the line running to ensure work is available for all associates in their operation area
• Lead associates based on workflow
• Take ownership in the success of the overall operation set goals that will meet or exceed set objectives
• Continuously check all scripts pertaining to their department and make the necessary adjustments
• Check email and respond to emails timely
• Fill in for any associate in their department, as needed
• Frequent walkthrough in the warehouse to ensure the area is always clean, any concerns are corrected, and damages are reported
• Hold the highest level of professionalism and integrity in every action performed on behalf of Dickies and its associates
• Use good judgment whenever necessary to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of Dickies and its associates
• Abide by and reinforce all company rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintain a positive attitude within facility, acting with integrity as a leader
• Help ensure all operation area functions are conducted in a manner that promotes the highest level of accuracy and quality
• Help ensure OSHA regulations are followed and maintain a clean, safe, and organized department
• Other additional departmental duties assigned by the Supervisor and / or Managers

A Lead, Warehouse Operations should hold the highest level of professionalism and integrity in every action performed and use good judgement whenever necessary to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of VF Corp and the Dickies brand.

Under the supervisor of leadership, the Lead, Warehouse Operations will direct associates as they rotate through various positions on the warehouse floor to accomplish daily business goals. The Lead, Warehouse Operations may be tasked with lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, stacking and performing various functional movements in the pursuit of moving the VF products around the warehouse to achieve our production goals. Additionally, this role may serve as a transporter of bulk goods using Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment.

The Lead, Warehouse Operations will ensure all company rules, safety standards, policies, standard operating procedures are followed by department associates to maintain necessary performance levels with the highest level of accuracy and quality.

This role will also be expected to uphold all OSHA and VF and Dickies safety standards, and quality standards.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to ensure the accurate completion of shipping of all customer orders. A Lead, Warehouse Operations should be able to communicate and train associates effectively to achieve business goals.

Skills for Success

Years of Related Professional Experience : 2 to 3 years of experience in high-paced volume processing warehousing and distribution operations is preferred. Prior experience with PIT's highly desired.

Educational Position Requirements : A formal education and subsequent undergraduate / graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

What we expect you already know : Demonstrated leadership competency and organizational skills. The ability to read, write, comprehend, speak English to the degree which allows the associate to verbalize and understand general commands in regards but not limited to topics such as safety and performance. The ability to perform simple arithmetic functions, adding / subtracting / counting etc. for the purpose of verifying goods and products, and interpreting performance reports.

Prior experience or ability to learn the following tools : Windows, Microsoft Office, Warehouse Management System(s), and other software as applicable.

Hiring Range : $18.00 USD - $22.50 USD per hour
