About the Role
As Group Manager, Media, you will own Thumbtack’s performance media portfolio across TV, CTV, Online Video, Audio, and emerging channels. You’ll define the long-term investment vision with a performance-first mindset, balancing local and national buys to maximize contribution. You’ll bring innovation through AI-driven automation, creative strategies that break through clutter, and advanced measurement frameworks to prove impact in an increasingly untrackable world. This role is highly visible, requiring strong executive influence and the ability to develop and lead senior media talent.
What youll do
Own portfolio strategy and budget allocation across TV, CTV, Online Video, Audio, and emerging channels
Drive execution of the media roadmap, ensuring clear OKRs, test-and-learn agendas, and performance goals are defined, tracked, and met
Define and evolve best practices, partnering with Finance and Data Science, to forecast, scenario plan, and model ROI tied directly to contribution
Lead automation and infrastructure innovation at scale, driving adoption of AI-driven tools such as dynamic creative optimization, predictive bidding and advanced data integrations
Develop creative / media integration strategies that cut through clutter and drive measurable results
Build advanced measurement frameworks to capture performance in a complex media environment and guide investment decisions
Drive executive communications by presenting performance insights and forward-looking strategies in QBRs and leadership forums
Manage and develop a high-performing team of channel managers, fostering a culture of performance excellence
In order to be successful, you must bring
Significant experience leading large-scale performance and multi-channel media portfolios
Proven success owning multimillion-dollar budgets with accountability for efficiency, contribution, and ROI forecasting
Deep expertise in automation, infrastructure, and AI-driven optimization, along with advanced measurement frameworks such as MMM, incrementality, and portfolio modeling
Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights, decisions, and long-term direction
Executive presence and communication skills to influence senior leaders, drive cross-functional alignment, and build buy-in for growth strategies
Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop senior talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
Expected salary ranges
For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $195,500 - $253,000.
For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $175,950 - $227,700.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $166,600 - $215,600.
Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
