Job Summary
This position supports all phases of a project, with particular focus on detailed engineering. The role will serve as the Structural Design Lead for assigned projects, coordinating and ensuring effective communication with other engineering disciplines.

Reporting Structure
Administrative Reporting : Design Manager
Project Reporting : Discipline Lead Engineer and / or Project Manager / Project Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Assist engineers with equipment layout and structural design assignments under minimal supervision.
Develop familiarity with company programs, staff, and operating procedures.
Prepare general arrangements, structural design drawings, and sketches using 3D modeling software.
Prepare construction drawing and specification packages.
Education, Skills & Experience Education
Associate’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
Candidates without a degree but with exceptional experience will be considered.
Experience
Significant heavy industrial design / drafting experience in refining, power, chemical , or similar industries.
Strong background in equipment layout and structural design for retrofit projects.
Ability to identify components (e.g., pipe supports, structural steel) in the field.
Proven field documentation experience.
Technical Skills
Required :
High proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
3D design and modeling experience with CADWorx .
Preferred :
Revit and Plant 3D experience.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work directly with clients from proposal to project execution.
Previous consulting experience strongly preferred.
Certifications & Credentials
Eligible for or currently hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) .
Legal right to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).

Failure to pass or refusal to test may result in termination where legally permissible.
Background Checks
Conducted at hiring and periodically thereafter.
Results remain confidential unless they affect client site access eligibility.
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel by driving or flying to client facilities and company offices.
Valid driver’s license and insurability through company’s provider required.
Ability to drive a personal, registered, and insured vehicle.
Negative driving incidents (e.g., DUIs, excessive speeding tickets) may affect eligibility.

Proficiency in English (spoken, written, and comprehension).
Ability to interpret instructions, correspondence, and memos in electronic and written form.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands
Ability to enter, work in, and evacuate from all areas within client sites (with reasonable accommodation where possible).
Regular use of hands for handling and communication.
Frequent sitting and reaching; occasional walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Regularly lift / move up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Vision requirements : close vision, depth perception, focus adjustment.
Work Environment
Office and industrial site conditions.
Industrial sites may have : loud noise, moving mechanical parts, fumes, gases, airborne particles, confined spaces, and electrical hazards.
