job_description.job_card.job_descriptionBachelor's degree in Design or Engineering, plus a minimum of 5 years of related software experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, ArtiosCAD, and MS Office programs or Google Docs. 5 years' experience in retail design with at least 2 years' experience in structural engineering of displays / signs. Experience and knowledge of production processes and working within a cross-functional team. Strong portfolio with spatial visualization, design, 3-D, color, layout, and typography. Ability to translate creative concepts into precise, three-dimensional structural designs. Proficiency in generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and component specifications using ArtiosCAD. Capability to operate corrugated knife-cutting equipment such as Kongsberg or Zünd tables. Understanding of safe packaging methods for shipment and ability to explain assembly to internal teams for mass-produced displays. Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present ideas clearly. Willingness to acknowledge mistakes; loyal to customers and team; trustworthy and reliable. We are a 100% employee-owned visual merchandising company leading the retail industry in design and production. We live our values by delivering high-quality products and services and sourcing sustainable materials from eco-friendly partners. We seek a talented Structural Designer to join our team and bring creativity to life through innovative 3D design. You'll model and analyze both new and existing 3D structures to support the creation of custom displays and graphics and collaborate with Creative, Product Development, and Sales teams to design functional, visually stunning solutions that meet client needs and timelines.
Shift available : Monday through Friday 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm (onsite in Chanhassen, MN)
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development process from concept to production, using 2D / 3D modeling software (primarily ArtiosCAD) to create and refine designs for displays, promotional packaging, and graphical banners.
- Research and recommend emerging trends in display, merchandising, and packaging design, exploring innovative materials and mediums.
- Conduct dimensional studies, define part and assembly datums, establish tolerances and control plans, and identify methods to reduce process and part variation.
- Collaborate with Design, Sales, Product Development, and Engineering teams to ensure design work and revisions are completed on time and meet expectations.
- Take on additional projects and tasks as assigned by management to support team and company goals.
