Wayne State University is hiring : Interior Designer in Detroit

Interior Designer Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Interior Designer at its Detroit campus location.

Wayne State is a premier, public, urban research university located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan where students from all backgrounds are offered a rich, high-quality education.

Essential Functions : Create unique design solutions for the University.

Provide creative and technical expertise and consult, act as a problem solver and manage a diverse project load and client base.

Participate in architectural interior design, planning, documentation and coordination of new construction, renovation, remodeling and alteration projects of University buildings and facilities.

Develop and maintain appropriate interior material and color palettes for buildings and spaces throughout the university.

Prepare and determine specifications for furniture purchases.

Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, schematic and preliminary drawings and cost estimates for proposed projects.

Participate in construction contract administration.

Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field.

Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-related experience).

Proficiency in Autocad, Revit, Sketchup, and Adobe Suite.

Strong creativity, artistic ability and imagination.

Knowledge of furniture space planning and preparation of related specifications.

Ability to communicate effectively with others.
