Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrol

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availabilitygiving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a valued member of Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for guests and staff. Your presence will assist in loss prevention efforts and support access control, all while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. Position Type : Part Time

Pay Rate : $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTime Thur 08 : 00 AM - 04 : 00 PM

Fri 03 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, assisting with maintaining a secure environment within the retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents, documenting details according to Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Assist with access control, verifying credentials as necessary for entry into designated areas.
  • Offer support and information to employees, customers, and visitors, promoting a welcoming atmosphere while upholding security-related protocols.
  • Collaborate with store management and local authorities as needed during incidents or emergency response activities.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • Possession of a state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
