Our client, a Boston-based university, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Change Management Lead to drive organizational transformation initiatives across the university’s global network. This role will lead change management efforts for multiple critical technology implementations, ensuring successful adoption and minimal disruption to university operations.
The Change Management Lead will work collaboratively across ITS teams, project teams, vendors, and university stakeholders to design and execute comprehensive change strategies that support digital transformation initiatives. This position requires expertise in managing complex organizational change in a higher education environment with multiple stakeholders, diverse communication needs, and varying levels of technical sophistication.
This contract role requires a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week in-person onsite and two days working remotely. It is a full-time 40 hour a week position.

Bulk Email Project
Lead change management for consolidating 20+ email communication tools into a centralized enterprise platform. This initiative addresses current challenges including spam flagging, inconsistent governance, manual segmentation processes, and fragmented tool landscape. The project involves migrating newsletters, announcements, and marketing communications while establishing new governance frameworks and improving efficiencies and understanding across Northeastern’s global network.
Additional Technology Initiatives
Support organizational change for various enterprise system implementations as assigned, which may include vendor management systems, workflow automation tools, and other digital transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities
Change Strategy and Planning
Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies for multiple technology initiativesConduct change impact assessments and stakeholder analysis to identify risks and opportunitiesCreate change management roadmaps aligned with project timelines and organizational prioritiesDesign and implement change readiness assessments and adoption metricsCommunication and Training Leadership
Partner with ITS Communications team to develop multi-channel communication campaignsCreate stakeholder-specific messaging for faculty, staff, students, and external partnersDesign and oversee delivery of training programs, working with internal and vendor training teamsDevelop change champions network across different university departments and global locationsLead communications for enterprise platform implementations, including email marketing systems and governance framework changesStakeholder Management
Engage senior leadership and steering committees to ensure executive sponsorshipCoordinate with external vendors on change enablement activitiesCoach project teams on change management best practicesBuild relationships with key influencers across colleges, departments, and global campusesFacilitate workshops and focus groups as needed to gather feedback and address resistanceRequired Qualifications
Experience and Expertise
Minimum 5 years of experience leading organizational change initiatives in complex environmentsProven track record with large-scale technology implementations and system migrationsExperience with vendor management and coordinating change activities with external partnersBackground in higher education or demonstrated understanding of university operations and cultureTechnical Skills
Strong understanding of enterprise communication platforms and governance frameworksExperience with email marketing platforms, bulk communication tools, or marketing automation systems preferredFamiliarity with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, or similar enterprise platformsProficient in project management methodologies and change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter)Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and project collaboration toolsCommunication and Leadership
