Life Enrichment Assistant (Art, Music or Rec Therapist)

Description

Exciting opportunity at St. Anne's for a Life Enrichment Assistant [Art, Music or Rec Therapist preferred]

Part Time

Must be willing and able to work Every Sunday and Monday / Every other Wednesday

Experience

At least 2 years

The Director of Life Enrichment

Responsibilities

  • Leads resident council meetings, maintaining / sharing minutes through appropriate channels and resources.
  • Will report any unusual resident’s behavior and health concerns to nursing staff.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness in activity areas.
  • Identifies and attends appropriate approved educational in‑services.
  • Treats residents, family and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Researches and supports supply fulfillment for life enrichment activities.
  • Ability to complete assessments, care plans and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to relate well to the patients, families, staff, churches and the community in general.
  • Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement, make sound decisions and exhibit flexibility when needed.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Reliability and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Ability to establish rapport with residents.
  • Ability to tolerate interruptions.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to read, write, add and subtract.
  • Ability to lead large and small group activities and get involved, i.e. wear costumes, use props, etc.
  • Ability to document care and services, formulate goals and care plans.
  • Ability to organize and work effectively with others.
  • Ability to walk, stand or push wheelchairs for long periods.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and twist.
  • Ability to set up and take down tables and chairs.
  • Ability to load and unload wheelchairs from a vehicle.
  • Good personal hygiene.
  • Free of police record related to misappropriation, abuse or other offenses prohibited by law.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must have auto insurance with Marquardt minimum coverage requirements.
  • Ability to efficiently utilize common word processing, electronic calendars, email and other required CPU programs.
