Jayco is in Middlebury, Indiana. We are looking for candidates that are local to Northern Indiana or Southern Michigan.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenance team. This is not a production opening. We are looking for a highly motivated, team oriented individual who wants to be a part of an amazing company.

Maintenance Electrician Purpose : This position exists to install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures while ensuring work is in accordance with relevant codes. The position is responsible for preventive maintenance, special projects and emergency repairs.

Maintenance Electrician Essential Functions :

  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of CNC machines (Holzma, Weeke, Onsrud, etc.)
  • Trouble shoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components. Performs start up procedures and trouble shoots equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes advising management of hazards to continued operation.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices (ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes) to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Repairs, maintains, adjusts & installs HVAC systems.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.

    • Maintenance Electrician Required Experience / Knowledge :

  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting equipment with automatic tool changes and tool management.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance.
  • 2-5 years of journeyman electrical experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and / or experience with computers and CNC programming is a plus.
  • Demonstrates proper Lockout / Tagout procedures and follows all safety policies and regulations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Able to install and trouble shoot 3 phase motor control circuits and various types of sensors and limit switches.
  • Trouble shoot and resolve electrical control problems in hoist, AC / DC control systems up to 480v, VFDs, HMIs, PLCs, and transformers.

    • Maintenance Electrician Necessary Skills & Abilities :

  • Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of electrical and facilities repair and maintenance.
  • Maintains equipment in accordance with the manufacturers and Jayco requirements & schedules.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to conduct self in a professional and courteous manner.

    • Maintenance Electrician Work Requirements :

  • This position may require working in extremes in temperature & environment while performing moderately physical activity.
  • Requires ability to occasionally travel between field locations.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 65 pounds.
  • Requires ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions along with ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
  • Regular attendance is required.
