Job Title : Manager, Media Relations

The Manager, Media Relations role sits on our North America Media Strategy team, with a wider group focused on media strategy and development. This role drives media strategy for 4-6 clients and provides additional media counsel for other teams as requested.

The Director, Media Relations serves as a mentor across the agency, helps upskill staff with media relations best practices, and stays educated on the evolving media landscape.

As Manager, Media Relations you will have strong journalistic relationships and know how to develop and maintain new connections in tech, business and trade publications.

Responsibilities Daily you will drive media strategy for 4-6 accounts through media analysis, audience analysis and media relations.

Immerse yourself in business, tech, trade and industry verticals to identify driving conversations for clients.

Collaborate with client teams to execute media strategies that drive results in earned and paid media.

Manage one or more direct reports, and be responsible for their development, performance and wellbeing.

Serve as a media team leader, supporting the development of the wider Media Strategy and junior team at Hotwire.

Lead media strategy in new business activities.

Participate in monthly media roundtables, host reporter meet and greets, and attend events to strengthen journalist relationships.

Qualifications 7-10 years of media relations experience in-house, agency, or newsroom.

Strong understanding of the evolving news climate and media industry.

Established relationships with journalists in tech, business and trade publications.

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to develop and implement media strategies in the tech space.

Existing network in tech and business industries among clients, talent and media.

Entrepreneurial mindset and a desire for continuous learning.

Strong storytelling skills with confidence in presenting ideas and providing counsel.

Experience managing teams and developing career paths for direct reports.

Compensation – Compensation Range : $75,000-$90,000 .

The salary range is one component of Hotwire’s total compensation and benefits package. Salary is determined based on education, training, experience, location, travel requirements, external market, and internal value. A candidate’s salary history is not used in compensation decisions.
