Job Overview

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for the successful operation of the banquets events. Ensures all banquet activities are carried out professionally and to standard while maximizing profitability. Manages, motivates and empowers associates. Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and team building skills with associates, peers and across departments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of banquets events to ensure compliance with Banquet Event Orders, safety regulations and procedures and to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality.
• Meet with the customers to review the Banquet Event Order and to review any changes, issues and / or problems to ensure delivery of a quality product.
• Calculate and review the banquet checks ensuring accuracy and present the check to the customer for signature to ensure payment.
• Calculate and prepare the daily gratuities and payroll ensuring accurate, prompt reporting to the Controller's department.
• Monitor and control the maintenance / sanitation of the banquet areas and equipment to protect the assets and ensure quality service.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers and associates to ensure that all room setups, equipment, supplies, staffing and menus meet / exceed customer's expectations.
• Keep station neat and clean while servicing guest per established policies and procedures.
• Use proper in-room clearing and tray jacks.
• Break down buffets or other special food service tables and equipment.
• Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies / procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
• Keep kitchen area, storage areas, and buffet clean according to policies set forth by management.
• Hours : Flexible; scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
• Complete all set-up and closing duties. Set-up table according to procedures, with table cloth, skirting, food and utensils.
• Clean off buffet and put supplies away appropriately at the conclusion of service.
• Perform sidework duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education / Formal Training

One to two years of post high school education.

Experience

Two to three years in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
