PURPOSE :

The ability to meet hand sorting requirements and maintain the operation of the electronic sorters to confirm that product meets the quality requirements.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES :

• The skill and ability to hand sort parts per instructions.
• Must learn the proper use of various measuring instruments as well as visual inspection.
• Required to use various box parts, document for identification purposes, establish and identify correct counts, and restock product using lift truck, if needed.
• Required to run test samples for inspection verification and understand how to complete proper paperwork.
• Must be able to produce standard stock bar code labels and Driv-Lok bar code labels.
• The ability to interpret Driv-Lok drawings and / or shop orders to establish product conformance.
• Responsible to operate and maintain the electronic sorters, laser sorter, LED inspection systems.
• Responsible to perform all record keeping responsibilities for assigned area.
• Understands what is required to meet specifications of a quality product.
• Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area and care of assigned tools.
• Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or his / her designee.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

Read, write and simple shop mathematics. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

LANGUAGE ABILITY :

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, process sheets, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have good communication skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to learn to operate the computer systems used at Driv-Lok.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES :

Fork truck license needed, training provided by Driv-Lok.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in a factory environment with noise, oil, and smoke.

The employee will be working with electronic sorting equipment, precision measuring instruments, vibrator feeders, hand and fork lift trucks, scoops, weight scales, hoist and copy machine.

The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, bend, and stand a majority of the shift.
