TEACHER - MUSIC PAIRED K-5 OR K-8 Job at Milwaukee Succeeds in Milwaukee

Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for paired music teaching positions.

Paired positions are full-time teaching in two schools (general music in grades K-5 or choral or instrumental or music technology in grades 6-8). These positions may spend mornings in one school and afternoons in another or two days a week at one school and three at the other. Exact configuration to be determined based on pairing.

A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) is seeking highly motivated and creative individuals to build and implement high quality music education programming. Educators are supported by the Music Curriculum Specialist and music support teachers in the office of Fine Arts, as well as the Milwaukee Music Educators Association, a growing community of music educators across the district who seek to share best practices and develop a strong and culturally responsive music curriculum.

MPS music educators provide a music curriculum aligned to the Wisconsin Music Standards. A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teacher provides an instructional program for regular and special education students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level.

At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his / her undergraduate degree.

Qualifications

Applicants must be licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach the respective specific grade level and / or content area.

Eligible applicants must apply during the application window and include :

EXTERNAL CANDIDATES

• EXTERNAL fully licensed teachers, counselors, or librarians
• Student or permit teachers, practicum students, and interns who will be fully licensed by August, 2025
• Permit or intern teachers in need of another 1-year license with stipulations for 2025-26
• Bachelor degreed individuals pursuing a teaching / counseling / librarian position and licensure

The teacher salary range starts at $52,827.70 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience.
