Overview
The Fixed Equipment Engineer, Projects provides leadership, technical expertise, and business perspective in all areas related to refining fixed equipment. This role involves capital project execution, engineering, procurement, and construction. It ensures projects are technically sound and achieve safety, reliability, and environmental objectives and are consistent with PSM management of change.
Responsibilities
- Staying current and proficient with relevant ASME / API codes for the construction, modification, and repair of fixed equipment and piping.
- Executing projects and ensuring conformance with Phillips 66 Required Standards, Recommended Engineering Practices, and relevant codes and industry standards.
- Applying industry knowledge and experience to address new construction, modification, and repair of existing equipment.
- Providing guidance for equipment fabrication inspection and testing plans.
- Coordinating fixed equipment aspects of the MOC process.
- Reviewing project design packages and providing design input to ensure that site requirements and preferences are met.
- Perform Level 1 and Level 2 fitness for service evaluations per API-579.
- Perform bolted joint assessments for proper equipment makeup.
- Review or perform piping stress modeling and analysis.
- Promoting and assisting with the management and development of work processes, standards, best practices, and guidelines for efficient engineering design and construction.
- Successfully managing competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Accountable for managing time to deliver on commitments.
- Ensuring project scope and cost are controlled and change is managed.
Required Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in job posting countryBachelor's degree or higher in engineering or equivalent10 or more years of petrochemical or related industry experienceExperience with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel CodeExperience with alterations, repair, & FFS (NBIC / API 579) of pressure vesselsTechnical expertise in design, fabrication, and construction associated with fixed equipmentAbility to apply creativity and technical expertise to problem-solving while achieving broad business objectivesPersonal discipline to balance short-term demands with long-term objectivesAbility to direct the activities and priorities of others through influencePreferred Qualifications
