Innovation And Science Manager
LaSalle Network has partnered with a nutritional organization who is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Innovation And Science Manager to lead their research and development efforts. In this critical role, you will be the driving force behind the creation and commercialization of new nutritional ingredients. You will combine scientific expertise with strategic business acumen to manage the entire innovation lifecycle, from initial concept to market launch. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking scientist to make a significant impact on the company and the nutritional industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Innovation & R&D : Drive the strategic direction of our innovation pipeline. Conduct research to identify emerging market trends, consumer needs, and new ingredient opportunities.
Project Management : Manage R&D projects from ideation through to commercialization. This includes defining project scope, timelines, and budgets, as well as coordinating with internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) and external partners.
Scientific & Technical Expertise : Act as a technical expert, providing scientific guidance on product development, formulation, and quality assurance. Stay current with the latest scientific literature and regulatory requirements in the food and dietary supplement industries.
Customer & Business Collaboration : Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to translate customer needs into innovative product solutions. Provide scientific support and technical presentations to key customers and at industry events.
Team Leadership : Mentor and guide a team of scientists and technicians. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Reporting & Documentation : Maintain meticulous records of all research, development, and intellectual property activities. Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress and scientific findings to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
5+ years of experience in product development, R&D, or a similar role within the nutritional, food, or dietary supplement industries.
Proven track record of successfully managing and bringing new products to market.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations, cGMP, and quality control processes.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
