Job Description
The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting facility PLC and SCADA systems. This includes calibration of system instrumentation field devices, management of PLC control panels, ladder logic, field instrumentation loops, network communications, alarm management, and SCADA systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Track and analyze operation of instrumentation systems.
- Maintain calibration logs for measurement devices.
- Provide regular reports and trend analyses.
- Monitor network traffic to identify issues proactively.
- Collaborate with System Engineers to ensure control loops meet specifications.
- Support maintenance and operation of PLC / SCADA and DDC automation systems.
- Maintain calibration of measurement systems per CMMS schedule.
- Respond to instrumentation issues to support continuous factory operations.
- Monitor instrumentation systems for potential problems and propose solutions.
- Maintain backup databases for control logic.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including emergency response tasks.
Knowledge and Skills
Safety awareness and training in working with I&C and low-voltage electrical systems.Effective communication with engineers and team members.Minimum 5 years of I&C experience in an industrial environment, preferably in semiconductors.Working knowledge of RSLogix 5000 and troubleshooting control systems using instrumentation diagrams and electrical schematics.Experience calibrating various field instrumentation (level, temperature, pH, flow, pressure).Knowledge of PID controllers, control valves, and VFDs.Familiarity with building DDC controls, SCADA, PLC, and DCS control systems.Proficiency with HMI interfaces and calibration equipment.Computer literacy with Windows applications and CMMS software.ISA certification is desirable.Abilities

High School Diploma required.Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial automation systems.Associate degree or completion of I&C apprenticeship preferred.ISA Control System Technician Certification is a plus.Valid driver's license if mobile.Physical Requirements
Extended hours in various weather conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and in confined spaces are expected. Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
Work location : Phoenix, AZ. Onsite work with minimal travel.
