Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer – Water / Wastewater to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a diverse technical background and extensive client-facing experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This individual will lead multidisciplinary teams, support business development, and manage a wide range of project types, from conveyance and collection systems to treatment facility design.

This is a pivotal role within VS Engineering as we launch this new service line, offering an exciting opportunity for long-term growth and leadership. The selected candidate may choose Indianapolis or Noblesville as their home office.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the design and delivery of water / wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities and conveyance systems
• Serve as a subject matter expert in permitting, treatability studies, process optimization, and system operations
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality for multiple projects
• Oversee and mentor engineering teams, coordinating with other disciplines as needed
• Conduct site visits and maintain strong client relationships
• Support business development through client outreach, proposal preparation, and cost estimating
• Promote safety and quality standards across all project phases
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment
