The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC single turret lathes to produce high-quality parts according to blueprint specifications. This role demands a strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret drawings, basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and a commitment to safety and precision in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate single turret CNC lathe machines, some with live tooling capabilities.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, and plug gages.
- Perform manual deburring of parts during the machining process.
- Make offsets to tooling.
- Identify and resolve machining issues, such as tool wear, to maintain required dimensions.
- Accurately record production data.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure the workspace is clean and organized.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Familiarity with CNC lathes and measuring equipment.Strong focus on accuracy and quality.Strong communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
