We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our dynamic team at our industrial control panel shop.
Position Overview : The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of control panels and associated automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, automation technologies, and hands-on experience with industrial control panel fabrication.
Key Responsibilities :
- Control Panel Assembly : Assemble industrial control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Component Installation : Mount and wire various components including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), sensors, relays, switches, and other electrical devices.
- Wiring and Termination : Proficiently wire and terminate electrical connections following industry standards and best practices.
- Testing and Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough testing and inspection of control panels to ensure proper functionality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to control panel operation, electrical wiring, and automation systems.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation of assembly procedures, test results, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaboration : Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality control solutions.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement in control panel assembly and testing procedures.
Requirements :
Ideally 2 years of experience in industrial automation, control panel assembly, or related roles but entry level experience accepted.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Hands-on experience with electrical assembly tools and equipment.Strong understanding of industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and automation technologies.Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, CE).Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.Boerger, LLC offers :
