Estimator - Plumbing / Piping

Position Summary : Responsible for estimating and takeoffs of plumbing and piping. The individual should have a good understanding of all aspects of estimating for mechanical contracting and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, designers, owners, and job-site personnel, while representing TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner. Must be able to understand the design intent and fill in missing information to complete an estimate.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Reading and understanding project specifications and drawings
• Provide projects material takeoffs and pricing
• Attend project site surveys and walks
• Proficient in inputting missing information in the bid documents. Completing the design with intent.
• Must stay current with all estimating software and attend training courses as needed and / or required.
• Provides the VP of Estimating quantitative material take-offs and inputs information into spreadsheets.
• Ensures smooth and timely estimates.
• Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to secure scopes and pricing including but not limited to calling and / or meeting with them to discuss their scope of work.
• Ability to clearly write scope letters.
• All other duties as assigned.
