Job Title : Senior Field Service Specialist
Reports To : Region Operations Manager or Field Service Supervisor Solutions
Responsibilities
- Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment utilized in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
- Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
- Lead tasks in Transformer Testing (Power factor, TTR, insulation resistance, SFRA, winding resistance, partial discharge, leakage reactance).
- Lead Cable Testing (Insulation resistance, tan delta, hipot, TDR, partial discharge, cable thumper).
- Lead Circuit Breaker Testing (Insulation resistance, contact resistance, power factor, breaker timing, SF6 gas analysis, CT testing, high current testing, secondary injection testing, vacuum bottle integrity testing).
- Test both electrical-mechanical and solid-state relays.
- Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
- Plan, participate in, and develop safety meetings and training.
- Support management in the planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiar with industry standards such as NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA compliance standards, safety laws, and DOT regulations.Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Strong PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.Ability to work independently, while utilizing excellent judgment.Doble DTAF and Power DB knowledge is preferred; training will be provided.Demonstrated reliability in being on time for daily work assignments, meetings, training, etc.Strong organizational skills with on-time reporting of time and expenses, weekly status reports, and other documentation.Ability to keep tools, test equipment, and vehicles clean and up to date with service and calibrations.Must be willing to relocate within 60 miles of the hiring regional office.Corporate business hours are Monday–Friday, 7 : 30am–4 : 30pm; additional hours outside of business hours may be required depending on scope of work.Work near live electrical substations with safety precautions.Ability to work overtime including nights, weekends, and some holidays.Ability to travel on overnight, multi-day, out-of-town projects.Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.Education and Work Experience
Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Technology, or Military experience is preferred but not required.At least 10 years of experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning.Ability to achieve NETA level III or IV within 6 months of employment.Project management experience and ability to support management in planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.Other Requirements
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and motor vehicle check.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, as well as periodic, unannounced random testing.Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to obtain an endorsement to operate a combined vehicle weight up to 26,000 lbs.Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs.Must be willing to obtain a company-paid TWIC card, OSHA 10 / 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, and CPR training.Employer Rights
