Job Title : Mechanical Design Engineer – 12-Month Contract

Location : Silver Lake, Minnesota

We're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the product division of a leading pole manufacturer on a 12-month contract. This engineer will be part of a team developing a new product designed to reduce oscillation and movement in light poles during high winds . You'll be responsible for testing, refining, and validating a mechanical damping system to ensure structural stability and compliance with emerging industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the product team to develop and improve a mechanical damper system (e.g., tubs, springs, mass systems) for pole oscillation control.
• Conduct dynamic analysis to understand and counteract structural oscillations.
• Perform testing, instrumentation setup, and data collection to validate designs.
• Analyze test results, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
• Utilize SolidWorks for 3D CAD modeling and design iterations.
• Use LabVIEW or similar software for test automation and data acquisition.
• Support cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and product development goals.
