Job Summary

A Technical Writer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Hemlock, MI area. The Senior Technical Writer creates, edits, and manages critical documentation (SOPs, PMs, training) for a new manufacturing facility, requiring 5+ years of technical writing experience in a manufacturing setting, strong writing / editing skills, and the ability to collaborate, coordinate junior writers, and support equipment start-up.

Location : Hemlock, Michigan

Job type : Contract

Salary : $28.06 - 39.29 per hour

Work hours : 8am to 5pm

Education : Bachelor’s

Responsibilities

• Create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation (SOPs, PM procedures, training documents) of processes and equipment for engineers, technicians, trades, or operators.
• Collaborate with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.) to collect data and information.
• Develop documentation in a new manufacturing facility.
• Help to coordinate and train a small group of junior technical writers.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer (or similar role) in a manufacturing environment.
