As a Director of Channel and Distribution, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

  • Transportation and Electronics Business Group (TEBG) are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Channel and Distribution to lead our global channel and distribution strategy.
  • This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the development and execution of robust channel strategies, optimizing distribution networks, and enhancing partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement a comprehensive channel and distribution strategy that aligns with 3M's overall business objectives and drives sustainable revenue growth across multiple product lines.
  • Channel Development : Identify and cultivate new distribution channel strategies while optimizing existing partnerships to expand market reach and enhance customer engagement.
  • Market Analysis : Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform channel strategy and ensure alignment with market demands.
  • Performance Management : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate channel performance, ensuring accountability and driving continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with sales, marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of channel strategies and alignment with overall business goals.
  • Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of direct and indirect channel and distribution professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, channel partners, and industry influencers.
  • Budget Management : Oversee the channel and distribution budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize return on investment.
  • Your Skills and Expertise

    To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in channel management, distribution strategy, or related roles, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

  • MBA / MA / MS preferred.
  • Strong understanding of various distribution models and channel dynamics, with the ability to adapt strategies to different markets and customer segments.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Work location :

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 4 days per week)
  • Travel : May include up to 30% domestic / international

    The expected compensation range for this position is $266,001 - $325,112, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and / or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
