Success Coach, Student Access and Success

Overview

Job title : Success Coach, Student Access and Success – FIU. Provides support to undergraduate students to help ensure academic, personal, and career success. Utilizes best practices to improve retention and graduation rates; provides individualized guidance and services to students. Connects students to relevant campus and community resources; monitors and tracks progress of students; maintains communication with faculty and staff in support of the programs. Coordinates workshops and student enrichment activities.

Responsibilities

• Meets with individual students to assess needs. Refers and connects students with relevant university resources (housing, counseling services, disability resources, tutoring, financial aid, career services, etc.) to support degree completion.
• Monitors and records progress of individual students; maintains consistent and confidential records of student information. Analyzes student data to make decisions related to the student's progress.
• Serves as an advocate for students with university processes and services, as needed. Works with faculty and academic and non-academic units to track students and to ensure they are attending classes, labs, tutoring, and engaging in campus activities and programs.
• Coordinates with Student Life & Development and other areas to ensure students are engaged and integrated into the university community. Prepares students for graduation, postgraduate plans, and career counseling. Coordinates workshops and student activities.
• Participates in community outreach activities. Supports the recruitment process to attract and enroll students in college access programs.
